Every piece of sea glass is unique. Sea glass comes from glass items that could have been tossed overboard or from ship wrecks decades or even hundreds of years ago. The glass objects slowly work their way across the sea floor, collocating scratches from the sand and often broken by heavy tides as they crash against rocks. The sea glass I find along the coast of Corsica in some places takes a very long time to make its way onto the beach because of the very rocky sea floor that each unique piece of sea glass has to traverse.
What finally appears on the stony beaches that I search on are very small pieces of textured glass that look almost like semi precious stones. This natural texturing makes them more than just refuse that once found it's way to the bottom of the sea. I bring them back to my studio where they are drilled and combined with beads and other pendent charms to make beautiful works of natural art to be worn as a necklace.
