From the clear bleu waters of the Terranian sea to the rolling hills of Virginia.
My name is Marie Antoinette Santarelli Gilvey and I am a jewelry designer. I grew up in a little village called Bastia which is located on the island of Corsica. One of the biggest questions I get is, “Why did you leave that island paradise for a home in Virginia?” I’ve had many dreams and goals in my life and a few of them were to move to the United States, marry an American man with blue eyes and start my own business—that was just for start. I have realized each of those dreams. I shall return to Corsica one day and maybe bring my art jewelry business with me. Maybe I will open a little shoppe on the main street in Bastia—who knows. For now, I work away in the back bedroom of my house in Woodbridge, Virginia with my pro jewelry support team including my pussycat, Sammy, by my side and my son and husband helping me with craft shows, my website, photography, and marketing.
All my jewelry is made by a Corsican (me) but does not necessarily use materials from Corsica with the exception of sea glass. I find two different kinds of sea glass on the beaches of Corsica.
CorseCrafts unique jewelry is made with the sensibility of Corsican heritage and its people—after all, I am Corsican. The colors used reflect the natural beauty of the landscape and the Terranian Sea that surrounds the Island. Each piece is handmade with silver wire (accept where noted) using glass beads and semi-precious stones and inspected for strength and durability. I use beads and semi-precious stones from all over the world to craft this jewelry. If you would like a matching ankle bracelet please let me know, applicable charges will apply.
Local residents of Maryland, Washington DC and Northern Virginia can make an appointment to see my bead jewelry in person. Call (703-590-6558) or e-mail to set up an appointment. Why look at jewelry online when you can hold it in your hand or try it on? Friends are welcome. I have made repairs for some customers as well as custom handmade wedding jewelry for the bride and bridesmaids.
Every piece of CorseCrafts jewelry is handmade by myself, one creation at a time. My commitment to the highest quality never varies. I guarantee you’ll be satisfied with your CorseCrafts original – or your money back.
